It also had pictures of all the carters it was a speacil treat!.!.! After I got settled in i went to the musuem. It had a display of the outfits all the people wore. It also showed the money they used back then. It is nowhere near the kind we use and all the stuff was amazing. After that I went back in and listened to some good BLUEGRASS music and called it a day.

Well its Saturday afternoon and im going to see The Smith O,Reilly band tonight in my local theatre in Greenock Scotland i have invited a few business people who i trade with to come along to the show and also some of the nursing staff from my time in hospital to give them an introduction into this brilliant music Bluegrass i have allready converted my carpenter and his wife and they will be going to the show also and one of my new banjo students said he would go and bring his girlfriend so the grass is beginning to grow
as you will have seen in my other bloggs i tryed to set up a bluegrass club back in february but due to a bad attendance to these events i had to put it on the back burner for now but it is not a dead work i think the timing is just wrong . AT this time i am building up a mailing list and everytime i put on a show there is more people turning up so maybe in a year or so there will be enough interest to go with a club
well im going to get myself into town and listen to Smith and Reilly
catch ya all in thr grass

Rays so golden

A slight warming sensation is felt as the sun shines in glory. Ah........ the sweet sound of sparrows inviting all who dwells within, to come and partake in the birth of this beautiful new day. Rolling out from beneath the sheets, the cool mountain air quickly puts coffee out of the question. Dressed and ready for the day, fishing drifts into mind and suddenly, morning has been planned. With fishing caps on, poles in hand and a grown over path to follow, the two make their way to the lake. Finally, the lake is in view and evident that it is still in deep slumber. For a thick fog covers the still waters, with not a sound in the air. Time to sit down and have a break one says. As they search for some soft moss they spot a Dow and her fawn silently drinking from that crystal lake. Peace and tranquility is upon this corner of the earth. They decide to go and explore instead of disturbing that peaceful scene. To their surprise they find a quietly babbling brook that leads into a softly rolling waterfall with plenty of river stones to traverse. A roar is heard off in the distance, they look up to see a black bear up the brook a little way. Might be a good time step back and give him his space the other one says. They back off a few feet and watch this beautiful animal as he feeds.

Fall so golden

A house on the massive bluff overlooking a densely wooded scene is where two friends are going to spend the next few nights. The house is relatively secluded and the nearest highway is over five miles away. The car rolled to a slow stop as the gravel makes the very distinct crumbling sound under the tires. The door opens as the aroma of fresh fall air rushes past your faces. A big wide porch and a tall chimney is the first thing that met there eyes as they walked up the way toward the weekend retreat. A blue jay preens herself on the railing as they make their way past the threshold. One of them says that it's time to get settled in for the night and leaves to gather firewood while the sun is still out. The fire is crackling and the porch swing creeks softly. The fall colors are illuminated tenfold, as the sun slips silently under the distant mountains.

Arlo Guthrie was born with a guitar in one hand and a harmonica in the
other, in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York in 1947. He is the eldest
son of America's most beloved singer/writer/philosopher Woody Guthrie
and Marjorie Mazia Guthrie, a professional dancer with the Martha
Graham Company and founder of The Committee to Combat Huntington's
Disease. He grew up surrounded by dancers and musicians: Pete
Seeger, Ronnie Gilbert, Fred Hellerman and Lee Hays (The Weavers),
Leadbelly, Cisco Houston, Ramblin' Jack Elliott, Sonny Terry and
Brownie McGhee, all of whom were significant influences on Arlo's
musical career. Guthrie gave his first public performance at age 13 and
quickly became involved in the music that was shaping the world during
the 1960s.Here is my Interview with Arlo Guthrie:http://www.cincygroove.com/?q=node/259Scott

There's a first time for everything...

Well, Here I go venturing into the blog-o-sphere, which proves the old saying that there is a time for everything under heaven.
Here is a little bit about me. I have been married to my high school sweety for 35 years and we have four great kids who in turn have given us 12 (and counting) grand-children.
I enjoy music of all kinds but I especially am fond of acoustic, folk, and bluegrass. I play guitar and am learning to play the mandolin.
My gear... Guitars - Taylor 510CE, Schecter hollow body electric. Both are great in worship. Mandolin - I have a brand new JBovier (mandolins.net) that I love. This is my second mando (first one was a Morgan Monroe).
I am sure I will have meor to say later so for now...
Keep on pickin'
