I am Jonathan Estep, the mandolin player for Revival Ridge. I am, most importantly, a Christian. I play Grey Eagle mandolins exclusively. I started playing bluegrass at age 8 and a half as the upright bass player for the now defunct King's Strings, where my Dad was playing banjo. When that group disbanded in 2000, Dad and I started Revival Ridge, with Dad on the guitar and myself on the bass. We've had quite a few band reconfigurations thru the years, and the current is certainly one of the best. Revival Ridge currently features my Dad Paul Estep on rhythm guitar and vocals, me on the mandolin and vocals, Billy Morgan on banjo and vocals, and Ron Cornett on acoustic bass and vocals. We have a new CD out called "They Need Jesus" It a great one for sure. Thanks for your time and God bless!

Good bluegrass and bluegrass Gospel music, a good sounding mandolin or guitar, good, tight vocal harmonies, just good, clean music.

bad vocals, hard rock music, out-of-tune instruments (especially out-of-tune mandolins).

playing music, listening to music, recording music on my home studio.

It is true! We like our quality instruments, so we spend half our pay check saving up for them. Ha ha! You know, the more I play the more I love it. I've realized early in life that it's NOT all about the money and that is something I am proud of. If I am able to make a living off of playing music then so be it. But I'm going to have fun for now with it. God bless you and best pickin!

Well, you are not far away. We live near Kings Island and go to 1st. Baptist, South Lebanon, OH. Our church has groups in to sing. They usually try to have a concert 1 each quarter. I will go to your website and get info.

There also is a new place in town here. Every Sat. they have covered dish supper at 4:30, church service follows, then Bluegrass and Bluegrass Gospel til midnight.

Thanks Betty

I agree Jonathan with your comment, they were a great sounding group.  Just not enough spaces available for all of the possibilities! Glad you you took part in the survey.  Thanks for your comment, appreciate it.

I doubt Jamie will get on. He's never on anywhere anymore. He might make a profile if he gets a chance, but I doubt he'll be on much to chat. Our group (as of this moment) is me, Jody (on banjo), Andrew Herndon on guitar, and Matthew Herndon on dobro. We're still workin on a mandolin player, we've tried out three so far and we really like the last boy that played with us, but he's playing with his brother and sister in a group right now, so, we'll have to see if we can work that out. Sounds like y'all are doin well : ) Glad to hear things are goin good. Take care.

Same with me on the BB. Things in Gordo are pretty much the same as always. We're not playing too much, we just "assembled" the group the first of the year so we're still getting things going. Working mostly towards getting booked at some festivals next year and possibly this fall.
