Matt, a veteran New England bluegrass and folk musician, brings a fresh interpretation of older country, bluegrass and blues music, drawing from the songbooks of Jimmie Rodgers, Cliff Carlisle, Roy Acuff, Hank Williams, the Carter Family and others, in addition to his own compositions. He is one of only a few lap-style guitarists to play and sing solo.
In April of 2007 he was a featured perform at the 63rd Annual New England Folk Festival in Mansfield, Mass. He regularly performs in the New York City subway system as part of the Music Under New York program.
In addition to his solo work, Matt plays with the New England bands Charter Oak Bluegrass, The Bristol Boys (traditional country) The Remnants and Horizon Blue. He also is a member of the Griffin Hospital (Derby, Conn.) Arts and Entertainment program and the Midstate Medical Center (Meriden, Conn.) music therapy program.

He would love to hear from festival promoters who are willing to try something a little different, either on an auxiliary stage or main stage. |
