Graduate forester (CSU Ft Collins CO) in 1954 and 1958...US Army Korea era; Still operate structural wood products business (www.garrisonstructuralwood.com/index.HTM Want to get a few songs and stories about growing up in the 1930's (dust bowl and depression) and general how it was growing up during WWII and to date. My songs reflect this era or genre..Mostlly about how things were and might be in future for my grandchildren and anyone else interested. While I am 74, I have only been playing the banjo 4-1/2 years so my playing and singing is "rough around the edges."

John Hartford songs; also Carl Smith, Vern Gosdin, Vern Oxford, Luann Turner, Hardrock Gunter

Any rap, type stuff

Writing songs, banjo, reading Early American History, Eric Sloane-- type writings. I used to fly single engine planes; but too old for that now. Fortunate that I am close to seven grandchildren, who are all involved in sports so we get to see them perform often....

Thanks for requesting me as your friend - I am honored!  I listened intently to each of your songs....I'm certain that your grandchildren will, in years to come, realize what a treasure you have given them.  Thanks for sharing your thoughts and songs with the rest of us.

Yeah I  have researched the name and the Southern Rock Island Plow Company was in Dallas, TX. it had a fire and they gutted the inside and sold the building early 1900's the new owners added 3 more floors and in Nov.1963 Lee Harvey Oswald shot Pres. Kennedy from that building the Texas Book Depository. If I could figure out how to put songs on line I would!!  Stan
