| ABOUT ME |
I'm a Bluegrass fiddle player and singer from Fayetteville, NC. I'm aspiring to become a professional musician. Playing and singing Bluegrass is all I want to do. I believe the good Lord put me on this earth to make music for Him. I've always wanted to reach out to people, and music is a way to touch the souls of the audience. It's like a second language to me. I got started playing Bluegrass when I was about 12 or 13. I started on guitar, then fiddle, Dobro, and banjo. I later tried out the mandolin and bass, but fiddle has been my main instrument since I was 15. It was at that age I also decided I wanted to play music for a living, like my musical heros, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Rhonda Vincent, and others. Since August of 2006, I've been attending Fayetteville Technical Community College, studying Business. I should be finished with school in July 2009 with an Associate Degree. Right now, I'm freelancing as a fiddle player in the Sandhills and Piedmont area of NC. I have also recently finished a CD project entitled, Fiddlin' with Les. I named the album after my teacher/mentor, Mr. Leslie Sandy, who played with Bill Monroe in the 1950's. Les has given me many valuable lessons on the fiddle and music in general. Les is one of the kindest people in the world, and I'm glad I'm so fortunate to know him. Les played twin fiddle on 5 tracks of the project, and he also played bass fiddle. On this album I had the honor of recording a song that Rhonda Vincent, and her brother Darrin Vincent, co-wrote. I learned the song, When the Angels Sing, from Rhonda's The Storm Still Rages album when I was just starting out singing, so the song is special to me. Rhonda and Darrin were so kind to give me permission to record their song. Thank You Rhonda and Darrin! |
